The High Street has a thriving independent coffee shop, two restaurants and Antique and gift shops. The proximity of the River Thames makes Wargrave ideally placed for water sports. The thriving Wargrave Boating Club offers canoeing, punting and rowing and is closely associated with the annual Wargrave and Shiplake regatta which has taken place since 1867. Wargrave Station connects with the mainline station at Twyford, and onward to Paddington, Reading and Oxford. The recreation ground in Upper Wargrave has football pitches, a playground, a popular cricket and tennis club with 8 floodlit courts and there are lovely woodland walks.
